New Registration for online Orientation February 2026
Online registration will open at 10:30 am PT on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, on this web page. At that time, a red button will appear below to sign up where it currently says, "This shift is no longer available."

Once an online orientation session is FULL, there is NOT an available waitlist. This is a mandatory online orientation for anyone 18 years and older interested in the SMCH volunteer program. Please note, our Volunteer Programs require a weekly (same day and time), consecutive 6-month minimum commitment. Currently, weekend and/or evening shifts for volunteers are very limited.

Please note, at this time we are only onboarding volunteer candidates for the following programs:


  • CA: Creative Arts

  • CL: Activity Cart (Sunnyvale)

  • CL: Playroom

  • Explorer Program

  • Home Pharmacy

  • Pediatric Audiology (Los Gatos and Palo Alto)

  • Rehab Services (Los Gatos, Menlo Park, Stanford and Sunnyvale)


During the online orientation, a description of each volunteer opportunity, as well as its availability and requirements, will be provided. We will review any necessary online compliance courses, health clearance, security issues, policies, and procedures. You may schedule yourself for an online group interview once you have completed the online orientation. If you are a minor, 17 years old or younger, please use the Minor Link.

If you are a volunteer at Stanford Healthcare (SHC) or Tri Valley Health or have registered with either of these organizations in the past and would like to sign up to volunteer with us at SMCH you will need to click on "Login" instead of "New" during the next available registration and use your existing/current User ID and Password to register for the orientation. We encourage you to double check your User ID and Password are current before the registration for orientation takes place.
